Before it was all the rage, Howland Construction was making sure that each and every home that we built in Lake George was as energy efficient as possible. The way we thought about it was, “Why would we want to build a home that waste energy (and money) when there are better ways to construct homes?” And we still think this way today.
We now build energy efficient homes that meet or exceed the strict guidelines set by the NYS Building Code. That means that the homes we build are at least 15% more energy efficient than homes built to the 2004 building code, and we utilize design elements and products that often make our homes 20-30% more efficient.
Some of these design elements include insulation, lighting, windows, and HVAC systems that allow for more efficient energy consumption to the entire home. Designing your new home to these standards is what we do. It adds little additional cost to the process. Please contact us today to learn more about our energy efficient homes, and how you can also take advantage of the Design/Build process we use for home construction.
